| New Poker festival in Old Trafford Old
Trafford is playing host to a new poker festival. The festival starts in
June and will last for seven days. It is expected that the festival will
be attended by amateur and professional players from all over the world.
There are 5 tournaments in Texas Hold’em, Omaha and S.H.O.E. with a
prize money of $1million up for grabs. The added attractions include
free daily buffets, a gala dinner, tour of the Old Trafford Stadium and
some high paced cash games.
The festival is already hyped up in the media and the satellites are
queuing up at online poker rooms to get an entry into the festival. The
River Card poker room is offering 7 nights in a Manchester hotel for two
people, a tour of the Old Trafford stadium, 2 gala dinner tickets, $250
in travel expenses, zero rake cash games and entry into five poker
tournaments for $10,500.
Dave Brannan, from The River Card says "The festival will be the largest
ever event to be held in Europe outside a casino and is already
generating a lot of interest within the poker community and we are
hoping to have it televised. Choosing a non casino venue has certainly
brought its own challenges, but we are working closely with the Gaming
Commission to ensure the success of the event for everyone".
With a one million dollar prize pool, this festival is well poised to
become the biggest and greatest festival in Europe.
