In Poker, the Monster Hand rules all
There are usually three types of scenarios that will
occur after the flop has been dealt in poker.
1) Your opportunity to score a good hand will vanish.
2) You end up with a hand that will depend on another
card, perhaps two, to end up with a good hand.
3) You will already have your hand.
But even if you determine that your hand cannot be beat,
you must still choose just how you will play that hand so that you can
maximize the payout.
Best case scenario is to have a "Monster" hand, and one
that has no vulnarabilties, which means it will most likely be
four-of-a-kind, a nut straight, nut flush, or nut full house. If you're
lucky enough to acquire this type of hand, you must use it to you
advantage and squeeze it to achieve maximum winnings from your fellow
opponents.
If the situation presents itself in a manner to where
nobody has made a bet, then it would be wise to slowly build up the pot
with bets that consist of about half the size of the pot, so that the
players with drawing hands will end up calling. It only makes since to
leave some space for your opponent to bluff you, as opposed to you being
the chest-thumping aggressor.
